  • HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY SHOOT?
Please arrive at least 15 minutes BEFORE your session start time with your hair and makeup completed. Due to the nature of these shoots, you will not have time to “create” your look in the studio, of course we can amend and refine during the session but arriving unprepared will just eat into your shooting time! If you have any questions regarding how you should look, please see below or contact me personally at your earliest convenience. Nobody wants images where they look tired! Make sure you're well rested and well hydrated—drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest in the days leading up to your shoot (at least week, if possible). If you’re naturally fair – please don’t use fake tan. It limits your casting and looks strange on camera. If you are trying out a new hairstyle for your headshots, please make sure you have this done at least a week in advance of your shoot so that it can settle and to be sure that you like it enough to have in the images that will represent you!
  • WHAT SHOULD I BRING/WEAR?
Headshot sessions work best when you are comfortable—to achieve this, you must be comfortable in what you’re wearing! If you have a favourite top, or jacket, bring them along with you! They’re your favourite for a reason and it is important that you look and feel great in the images because it will translate on camera! Layers and textures work very well in headshots, try to bring a range of jackets too. AVOID logos, bold prints & patterns. I recommend bringing a range of necklines and colours, even that bright coloured top you haven’t worn since 2015, this could be it’s chance to shine! I will always favour being greeted by a suitcase-full of options, than someone just turning up with a black top in 3 different styles… The more, the merrier. Headshots are all about the eyes, to achieve a solid headshot it is imperative that you wear colours that make your eyes ‘pop’. Below is a guide to the colours that I think work best for different eye colours: For BLUE eyes: Lighter greens, shades of pink, classic neutrals (e.g. beige/taupe) , deep blues. For GREEN eyes: Coral, purple, deep greens, pale yellows. For HAZEL eyes: Lavender, orange, burgundy, dark neutrals (e.g. brown/grey). For BROWN eyes: Khaki greens, rich blue hues, gold, soft pinks. Of course, there is no rule book to what colour will suit you best, however, in my experience, these colour palettes work best. I recommend travelling with a top in black, grey & white and a few coloured tops and jackets as advised above. Please travel with makeup, makeup brushes, hair brushes/combs, straighteners/curlers, makeup wipes, a mirror, powder, etc. as required.
  • HOW SHOULD I DO MY MAKEUP?
Your makeup should be kept as natural and fresh as possible, as we want these images to be an accurate representation of you and what you look like. Contouring/Highlighting is fine just as long as it is not excessive—Try to avoid any highlighters with a lot of shimmer as this will be picked up on camera. Do what you need to accentuate and highlight your natural features, I personally prefer a more dewy look than a matted look as it is better for editing. I advise both men and women to walk with a face powder that matches their skin tone well just incase we need to take away a little bit of the shine. PLEASE DO NOT USE LIQUID EYELINER OR ANY EYELINER ON YOUR LOWER-LASH LINE.
  • CAN I BRING A FRIEND?
You may, however, I strongly advise against it. Having other people in the room can distract you and make you self-conscious, therefore you won’t be as relaxed as necessary to get the best images but it’ totally your call. I do ask that children are not brought along to shoots as there will be a lot of equipment which could potentially be hazardous. If you do plan on bringing someone, please let me know beforehand.
  • I’VE HAD A BREAKOUT BEFORE MY SHOOT, WHAT SHOULD I DO?"
Absolutely nothing! That’s nothing a bit of photoshop can’t fix :)
  • HOW MANY LOOKS/OUTFIT CHANGES WILL WE DO?
I usually try to get in at least 3-4 looks per session to give you a range of casting types. This is usually dependant on the session length.
  • CAN I GET TO THE STUDIO EARLY?
Yes, if you arrive 15 matures or BEFORE your scheduled session, you may wait in the cafe downstairs. If you are lost or running late please inform me at your earliest convenience BY TEXT. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM CALLING AS IT IS LIKELY I AM WITH ANOTHER CLIENT.
  • HOW & WHEN CAN I SEE MY IMAGES AFTER THE SHOOT?
Your images will be uploaded to a private gallery within 72 hours of your shoot. You will be able to favourite, and purchase your images through your personal gallery link. My turnaround time for requested images is 2-3 weeks.
  • HOW MUCH ARE ADDITIONAL RETOUCHED IMAGES?
An individual colour-graded, fully retouched high-resolution image is charged at £25, three images are £65, five images are £110, ten images are £210 & twenty images are £370.
  • CAN I GET THE UNEDITED IMAGES SENT TO ME OR POST THEM ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
Unfortunately not, it is important to me that I maintain the highest level of quality with my work as it is just as much of a representation of me as it is a representation of you! Your images will be kept on file for 1 year from the initial shoot date if you wish to purchase or view your images again. It is strictly prohibited to share any images that have not been purchased on social media.
